Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need have previous photographic experience?

You don’t need any previous photographic experience, as all the basics of photography will be covered, to ensure that everybody can take maximum benefit from the course.

Do I need a specific lens size or camera?

As we always remind our students, wildlife photography is not about the size of your lens, but having an appreciation for nature and telling that story through your images!

From a learning perspective, nothing beats spending quality photographic time with like-minded people, to share ideas, tips and tricks out in the field.

What can I expect from this course?

The main goal of this course is to dramatically improve not only the visual impact of your images, but your understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of wildlife photography.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a complete understanding of how your camera’s features work and gain full mastery over its settings, in order to take the most sublime, vivid wildlife photographs.

How are Wild Eye involved?

During the three-day course, Wild Eye pay attention to the different factors that play a role in creating striking, memorable wildlife images. This is achieved through a combination of theoretical lectures and game drives, which focus on exposing you to a series of typical practical scenarios in wildlife photography.

Wild Eye take pride in their personalised approach and, with a minimum ratio of one facilitator to every six students on the course, you can be assured of maximum personal attention during the course.

And after each course a trip report is produced, highlighting the experiences and sightings that were had. In future, we’ll be regularly updating these highlights on this page.

At Wild Eye, their purpose is to change the way you see the world – not only making sure you get the best wildlife and photographic experience, but that you have fun, feel well looked after, and that your expectations are exceeded from the moment you make contact with them.

Is it possible for disabled people to do the course?

From a photographic point of view, disabled people are welcome to join the course. We assign the front seat to them, making it easier to get in and out of the vehicle, with space under the seat for a wheelchair. The theory component of the courses are run in the lodge’s conference facility which is easily accessible.
